Term 2

Hi everyone,

I can't believe we are already half way through the year! Time sure does fly when you're having fun. We have achieved so much already this year and I hope you are as proud as I am.
Here's what's been happening...

Constable Care Incursion

In Week 6, Students attended a Constable Care incursion. They went on a wild ride in Professor Tells-You-Stuff's terrific tambourine time machine to explore the ways we can travel to school safely! The children learned all about walking, riding a bike or scooter and travelling in the car safely.

RAC Incursion
In Week 7, students attended an RAC incursion. Students became ‘crash scene investigators’ to understand bike, pedestrian and passenger safety. They listened to the emergency call to 000, listened to witnesses' accounts of what happened, and looked for clues that might help solve the mystery. These were their findings:
1. The bike rider was racing another person on a skateboard so they were going too fast and not paying attention.
2. The person walking the dog was crossing on a corner so they didn't see the bike rider. They were also wearing dark clothes, which made the difficult to see at night!
3. The person who was getting out of the car got out on the traffic side, had her headphones in and was watching something on her phone. She opened the car door and the cyclist had to swerve out of the way.

Super Scientist Presentations
In Week 7, students presented their Super Scientist experiments. The effort that went into these presentations was impressive and the audience asked fantastic inquiry questions following each experiment.

A HUGE congratulations to our class finalists, Milla and Eddie, who presented their experiment again to all the Year 2 students and teachers again in Week 8.

Merit Certificates
Congratulations to Dhwaj, Levi, Kabilan and Ty for receiving a Merit Certificate at the Junior Assembly in Week 7. These students have been working tirelessly this term and should be very proud of themselves. Keep up the great work! Congratulations to Jaedyn, who was recognised by Miss Oliver for his wonderful efforts in Sport this term.

Thank you for all your support so far this year. I wish you all a safe, relaxing and fun-filled break!
